Getting Started

Choose a mode from the Title Screen.

NORMAL GAME

Play through all 8 stages using one of three ships.

BATTLE STAGE

Shoot for the high score in a 2-minute or 5-minute game.
Choose your ship from OPTION in MY SHIP.

HOW TO PLAY

View an explanation on how to play and the game controls.

OPTION

Go to the OPTION MODE screen.

You will lose a ship each time you are shot down by an enemy or enemy fire.
If you run out of ships, it's GAME OVER and you'll be taken to the Score Screen.
At the Score Screen, select CONTINUE to restart the game from the beginning of the stage, or select GAME OVER to return to the Title Screen. Select CHANGE MY SHIP to change ships.

Basic Play

Three ships, PAROCEASER, BOMBERMAN, and PC-ENGINE are sent to diffuse the crisis on Planet PAROSON.
Players control one of these unique ships and blast their way through all 8 stages.

Each ship has a Special Attack and BEAM (Shot).
You can stock up to 99 Special Attacks and your BEAM will change depending on the power up items you obtain.

About your BEAM

Each ship has 3 different types of BEAM. The BEAM fired from your ship changes, depending on the power up item you last obtained.
You can level up the strength of your BEAM (to a maximum of 4 levels) by collecting the same power up item repeatedly.

About your Shield

You'll get a Shield if you power up your BEAM to level 3 or above.

BATTLE STAGE

Items

Destroy enemies or capsules to get items.
You cannot have both the Option Panel and Shield Panel at the same time.

PAROCEASER Items

	Red Crystal	Attack with a BEAM.
	Blue Crystal	Attack with a LASER.
	Yellow Crystal	Attack with FIRE.
	Option Panel	Release HOMING Missiles.

BOMBERMAN Items

	Red Bomb Panel	Attack with a BEAM.
	Blue Bomb Panel	Attack with BOMBs.
	Yellow Bomb Panel	Attack with balloon-shaped BOMBERs.
	Option Panel	Get a maximum of 3 OPTIONs to fight alongside you.

PC-ENGINE Items

	Red HuCard	Attack with a BEAM.
	Blue HuCard	Attack with a LASER.
	Yellow HuCard	Attack with HOMING missiles.
	Option Panel	Guard your ship with BLAST.

Other Items

	Miracle Ball	Earn 1000 points.
	Heart of Life	Be revived on the spot.
	1UP	Gives you an extra ship.
	Dud	The strength of your shot will be reduced by 1.
	?	A random item.
	Shield Panel	Places a powerful Shield around your ship.
	Special Attack Panel	Gives you another Special Attack.

Game Settings

You can change game settings in OPTION MODE.
Press up/down on the to choose an item, and left/right to make changes.
Settings are slightly different for BATTLE STAGE mode.

SOUND TEST

Listen to the BGM.
Press to play a track and to stop playback.

GAME LEVEL

Change the game difficulty (3 levels).

SCREEN MODE

Choose from one of two display options.

START STAGE

Choose the starting stage (stage 1 to 4).

SOFT RAPID

Turn rapid fire ON / OFF.

HIGH SCORE

Check the high score for each mode.

EXIT

Press to return to the Title Screen.
